Default where is a good place to start?

Im not sure if this is in the right forum or not but here goes...........What would i start with modifying on the engine, as like the first general step? Its a 99 Honda Civic SI and it will be upgradedslowly over time. Im asking this because i dont want toinstall something and then realize i should have done something else and have to rip it out or worse mess the car up. Any input would be appreciated thanks.

first should always be intake header and exhaust... also a suspension upgrade never hurt nobody.

first things first, get whatever you like. there is no order b/c you do what you want. you never know what you will like or dislike, so it's kind of a hit-n-miss type a deal.

Just from a "stay safe" point of view I say do your brakes and suspension first. That way you can stop and control your car better. Then you make it go faster. Too many kids are making their cars fast first and safe second. Just my 2 cents.

And in all of them you need to be able to stop at the end, right?

Or am I missing some glaring point here? ((I have done that in the past. Seriously. LOL))

stock brakes are more than enough to handle 150hp to the wheels... we're not talking huge numbers here. And dragsters can stop from 300mph I think his 4 banger can handle it haha... but you are right. Safety should be considered but Si's have upgraded brakes so he'll be more than OK.
