White smoke 95 Civic
Hey,
So I just changed my oil and when I went to start up the car this morning some white smoke came out the tail pipe. I checked a few other sites on the web and they told me that it might be the pcv valve. Considering I've never changed the pcv I was wondering if anyone here could post some pics of what it looked like; or how to do it.
Also any other comments as to why white smoke would come out the tail pipe would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Is the smoke white or bluish? Is the smoking problem continuing or did it only occur for a short time after the oil change?
On very cold days, some steam in the form of white exhaust smoke is normal until the engine is hot. Large amounts of white smoke continuously might indicate a blown head gasket or a cracked or warped head.

If you have large amounts, much more than you see other cars making on cold days, that could be a problem. Also if you have a leak in the engine the white smoke will usually smell like antifreeze.
Do change the PCV valve periodically, regardless. A problem with the PCV valve might cause oil smoke, which is gray/blue.

THE PCV VALVE IS ON YOUR INTAKE MANIFOLD. KINDA UNDER THE FUEL RAIL ON THE TOP RIGHT UNDER THE FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR. CHEAP PART AND A 3 MIN. FIX I'D START THERE. IF NO CHANGE RUN A COMPRESSION CHECK.LIKE THEY SAID IT COULD BE HEAD GASKET WARPED HEAD.IT COULD ALSO BE BAD PISTON RINGS. A HEAD GASKET/ HEAD CRACKED OR WARPED HEAD WOULD ALSO CAUSE SEVERE PERFORMANCE LOSS. THATS USUALLY THE DEAD GIVAWAY. ANY CEL. IF SO CHECK IT. BAD O2 SENSORS WILL CAUSE YOU TO RUN A BIT RICH CAUSING MORE GAS. BUT O2 SENSORS WILL CAUSE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
