got a 94plate 1.5lsi used a different battery to start it then changed it back to my battery while the car was running,put the negative on then when i put the positive the car cut out and definatly blew something? the fuses for the ecu and the back up keep blowing when i turn it over? do you think i've blown the ecu?

 

why didn't you just buy a new battery?

 

there is nothing wrong with the battery the car had been sittin for six months it was just flat? i drove the car the day before this happened and it was just needin a good run to charge it???

 

the better question would be why in the hell you tried changing a battery while the car was running?

Chances are you blew more fuses then you can shake a stick at. including the 80Amp fuse that is like $10 just for one fuse, you are lucky if you didn't kill your ECU from the surge of power too

 

I would of been scared to be blwon up into the sky doing what you did. Props for heroism.

 

You shouldn't be screwin' around with car batteries like this. You're lucky if a fuse was blown.

 

Oh i am gauranteeing him that there will be several blown fuses. he just better pray that the ECU fuse blew before the surge went to his ECU itself
