Why wont my car start!!??
OK..My 2000 civic ex coupe wont start..I took to the mechanic and they are working on it. The crank shaft pulley..alternator belt and power steering belt came off...And also , the timing belt need to be replaced.. The timing belt didnt snap or anything, He just sggested that it be changed because its at 86k.
My question is..would the car not start because the alternator belt came loose? The battery was jumped and it still didnt start..It would turn..but still a no go. I really couldn't bare to hear that its something else seeing that its a 400 dollar job
Any ideas on whats up?
BTW this all started after I hit a pretty deep pothole, which gave me a flat. THe car drove well the next day, just that when i was on the highway the battery light came on, and the car shut off about 10 minutes later..
THanks for any help!!!

That could be true..but the thing is I got a friend to try his civic battery in my car..and it still wouldn't start...and he took his right out of his car..
So it couldn't be the battery...the lights came on regularly as well..

There's a remote possibility that an additional problem is contributing to your starting problem; however, I believe that your concern currently is unwarranted and that your starting problem will be solved by replacing the belts.
