Default RE: Windshield Wiper Question

it's cheaper to just go to a junkyard and get a set off a wrecked car, and no, the spring is not easily replaceable. chances are that the spring is slightly giving out, or you have the incorrect size blades on one side of your windshield. and yes, they're different sizes.

Default RE: Windshield Wiper Question

Just thought I'd give an update on my wiper situation. After weeks of trying to figure out a solution tomy wiper problem, I went out and bought the cheapest pair of wiper blades I could find. Around $3.58 eachat Wal-Mart. They work great. No problems at all. In my opinion, the around $25 a piece Trico Neoforms that I had on are junk! I was doing research on different springs I could adapt to put more pressure against the windshield and I even bought a couple of springs at Lowe's to try (never could figure out how to attach them). I think the problem with the Trico blades are that they have too much surface area in which to catch air. I realize that they have a "spoiler" that is supposed to deflect the air and therefore press the blade against the windshield, but that wasn't working. I also accept that my arm probably does need replaced and isn't pressing the wiper against the windshield hard enough, but the "advanced" design of the Trico should have overcome that. Maybe the trico blades are fine products for the average vehicle, but they just didn't work for me. I think the reason the cheap ones worked is because they are constructed with mainly a "skeleton" with a rubber blade attached to it. The air has plenty of places to move "through" the blade assembly rather than get caught on it and lift it off the windshield. Just my opinion.
