Just bought a 1998 Civic from a guy got it home and tried the windshield wipers and I had nothing. Took a look around and noticed the fuse was missing. So I replaced the fuse and turned them on and they act like they want to go the wrong way. They don't go up the windshield they try to go down under the hood. What is the problem here? How do I fix this screw up? Thanks Mike

 

There are nuts on the ends of the wiper arms. Remove them with a crescent wrench and pull the wiper arms off the little post thing. Then turn the car on and cycle the wipers a few times to make sure it's back where it's supposed to go. Then put the arms back on, tighten the nuts up, and see if it works properly. If not, its possible the previous owner messed up the motor and more adjustment is needed.
