Mine is a 98 civic ex (stock sedan) and when my windshield wipers are turned on, they try to park (or go down towards the fierwall) instead of wiping. I haven't been able to find anything on this and it is making me crazy! If anybody can help, please help!!!

 

Take the windshield wiper arms off, not just the wipers, by removing the single bolt that holds them on. Then once you have both of them off turn the wipers on so they go through the motions and then once they stop take the key out and put the wiper arms back on in the position they are suppose to go.

Before you put them back on make sure that the "teeth on the arm and other part are not stripped. This would allow the arm to rotate.

Then see how it works.
