My intermittent position on my wiper switch does't work. I dont think its the switch, Is their a relay or timer that can be bad? All other positions on the switch work. Car is a 1992 Civic 3 door.

 

Therre is a module under the dash to control that. It may be combined with the beeper/etc. module on the back (or front, depending on your perspective) of the fuse box. Once you find it, it can likely be repaired by pulling it out and resoldering like you would a main relay.

 

First you may want to rule out a problem with the switch. The pictures describe some continuity tests for this purpose.
