Default Wow Mods on this site have a God complex!

It's illegal to tamper with the SRS system.

We've had a ton of these threads over the years and they always end in a ****-show. I'm just going to go ahead and close this one down before it gets ugly.

You can search for the threads if you'd like but you're not likely to find any real info as to how the chime is disabled. It's a safety feature, it's there for a reason, and it only takes 2 seconds to toss your seat belt on..

All I asked is there a way to turn the seat belt chime off on my 07 civic and I got this ^^^^^^ I'm a member of 5 other forums 1 for every car, truck, or bike I own and never had a thread closed over such a simple ?. I understand that it is illegal to do this and I know I know if a disable it and then sell the car maybe someone would forget to put on there seat belt and get in a wreck. But wait my 01 civic, 94 civic, 05 chevy truck, 72 elcamino, and 67 c10 dont even have a seat belt chime and I still remember to put it on.

Street racing is illegal to but do you shut every thread that you ****ing ricers talk about using Nawwwwws on the street for "that 10 secs or less because nothing else matters"? I bet not but yet when some one asks about seat bet chimes its a crime.

^Actually, yes. We do not condone street racing, so we do close those threads.

Just a hint, though. We say the whole SRS thing because we don't have a ******* clue how to disable it.

I guess I missed the point of this thread. I belong to other auto forums & none promote illegal removable of equipment or street racing.

Talk to your doctor about having your auditory nerve severed. This way no annoying sounds will ever bother you again.

It's either closed or we ridicule them into submission.

If the seat belt chime bothers you that much, just put it on BEFORE you turn the car on.

I'm still confused what did the Mods do besides what any Good Mod would do. These forums can't start promoting or supporting things illegal. The next thing would be the whole forum would be shut down.
I guess I missed it. It is Heck being an old man.

Well, 90 Civic, just for you... a summary of recent events, plus a little venting that's not directed at you:

Some dude posted videos of himself beating on his car before he returned it because he couldn't afford the payments. Staff ridiculed him for acting like a moron. He dissed the staff and defended himself. Staff further ridiculed him and then banned him temporarily. He made a new account and further ridiculed the staff. The staff banned him again because multiple accounts are grounds for a permanent ban... and then further ridiculed him.

Then this other dude who started this thread asked how to remove an annoying chime that was part of the SRS system on his Civic. We told him that it's illegal to modify that system, then closed the thread. If he had used the search function, he would have seen several other threads asking the same question that had been similarly ended. Instead, he responded by starting this thread.

We try to keep it clean on here. We clear out all the spammers so you don't have to see that mess. We ban idiots who are here to cause trouble, be trolls, or just be stupid in general. We close threads that involve illegal activities or topics. Sometimes, a member comes through who just does stupid stuff left and right. We hand out temporary bans in hopes that they'll learn and change their ways, maybe read a few of the stickies and use the search function next time. Most of the time, they don't. There are a few lucky ones who earned several temporary bans before they got their final permanent ban. They were sort of kept around because of the comic relief they provided, much like the most recent person who was kept for longer than usual due to the comic relief he provided.

You see, the job of moderating a forum is dull and boring. Ban a spammer here, delete all his spam threads there, there, and there. Repeat. Run Ride of the Month. Move a thread. Rename a thread. Delete a thread. Answer (or ignore) a PM where a noob asks you a technical question that could have been answered by SEARCHING. It's more frustrating than anything, but we take on that responsibility. Can you blame us when, every once in awhile, someone just goes that extra mile to make us mad and we have a little fun with them? Yet everyone seems to be getting mad at us lately for providing a little entertainment.

Some of you think being a moderator or an admin is fun, but it's really not that big of a deal. The "secret" moderator subforum isn't a club where we do awesome stuff. It's full of threads on individual members who have been troublesome. 98% of them are permanently banned because of the discussions about the rules that take place there. That's it.

Moderators and Administrators are necessary to this forum. If you're new here and don't know, things were BAD here before because we had many staff members who weren't active anymore and the ones that were didn't really have the power to do anything. Right now, we're in the best shape we've been in in recent history. The staff is active, we finally have the power to make changes, we try to have contests like Ride of the Month, and we've seen the forum's content expand and become more useful. This has all happened in the past year. It wouldn't have been possible if the current staff didn't care enough to try to make this a better place.

So, can some of you give us some slack?

I did do a search before I started this thread and i see where 04forty had closed a few that had asked the same ? That is what made me mad its not that big of a deal and he was spouting off illegal this and that when stated in this thread that just puting exhaust and tune can be illegal in some states. I bet the farm that stuff is all over this site and if your going to close my thread then you best get started closing all the others I mean its only fare right? Anyhow I only use my hondas for commut cars and will never mod them in anyway so I really only joined this site to answer that one question I had about my car and that got closed right off the bat. Not that I didn't expect it to do so after doing a search and seeing others closed but I hoping I might get my answer before the mods seen it and closed it.

i say the admins and mods are doing their jobs just fine, and if you got a problem then leave, you are not made to join or made to be on here. they have a life, they come on here and do all of this for us for FREE. they do Not want to be held responsible for illegal actions, you know from reading other posts that they have been closed, your post isnt any more special than theirs.
