Hey everyone!
I bought my first Honda automobile just a little over a week ago. I've owned Honda motorcycles before so I'm no stranger to Honda. It's a 05 Civic LX I bought from someone who bought it new last August. They were selling it because they were moving across the country and couldn't drive two cars. I got a good deal on a great car basically paying under wholesale for it. It's an automatic, black with a grey interior with 8800 miles on it now. It had 8400 when I bought it. The intention was that it was for my wife but I seem to be the one driving it most of time. She understands because I have longer commutes that she does. So far I averaged 35 mpgs on the last fill up which is nearly 15 mgs better than what I get with my 22 year old Mercedes. The Honda is a blast to drive. It handles well for a FWD and has adequate power. The only thing I wish is that it had a little more legroom up front. I'm 6-2 and even with the seat all the way back I feel a touch cramped. The 35 mpgs are worth it for now.

I'm 6'2" and 198 lbs. The Civic seem to have more than enought room for me--or at least one model does. I have a 2003 EX automatic, and a 2003 5mt ("the black one"). Curiously enough, I feel cramped for leg room in the EX and the DX fits me fine--the seat seems to go back further and I've got a great driving posture. In the EX I always feel that my legs are cramped and my arms are too close to the steering wheel. I notice this as soon as I got into the DX--the second 2003 Civic I've bought in two months.
Has anyone else noticed this?
btw--the 2003 EX auto seems to get about 32 mpg in all around driving; the 2003 DX 5mt got 37.1 mpg for it's first tank of gas, and I WAILED on it!

Mine's a 4-door. Do the 2 door's have more legroom up front?
BTW I tried out an '06 but I didn't like the visibility. The way the windshield is raked forward plus the extra pillars up front made me feel I was sitting too far back in the car plus I couldn't see the front edges of the car. Also its look still has to grow on me.
I feel the visiblitiy while driving is way better in the 05 than the new body style.
