1st Honda
Hey all, thought I'd stop in here and say hi. About to pick up my first Honda, leasing a new 2013 Civic LX. Daughter gets her license in March and will get my DD of 7 years, a 1998 Buick Riviera. I think she's getting the better end of the deal, but there's no way a 16 yr old is getting a new car to drive to school.
The Civic will be mainly driven back and forth for work so I was looking for very good mpg #'s and reliability. Test drove/compared competing cars, and the Civic was the winner, though the Focus and Cruze were not far behind. It will be joining the 98 Riv, a 2011 GMC Acadia, and a 1968 Buick GS350 in my stable of vehicles. Not sure how they'll all squeeze into a 2 stall garage...

Thanks for the welcome. We pick up the Civic tomorrow a.m. Coincidentally, my wife drove a 2012 rental Civic the past 2 days on a work trip. She was not impressed with the ride. I rode with her to take it back to the rental place last night, and it rode like a rear tire had a broken belt. Not pleasant at 60mph, wish she would have called me about it, would have had her try to have a shop inspect the tires. My Riv broke a belt first month after I bought it, sure makes for a crappy ride, and not safe.
The 2013 we're getting is black with gray interior. Other option was crimson pearl with beige int. I liked the crimson, but beige doesn't cut it. Stayed away from white and silver ext cars. Our current 3 cars are all white, not intentionally really, just were the best option available when we were buying.
