Smile 2000 Honda Civic. Need help please

Hello Fellow civic owners.

I need help. I have a 2000 Honda civic. When the car is cold, it has a loud knock/tick for to speak. I did the valve adjustement, verified that it is correct. Plugs wires, ignition rotors and cap, fuel filter, air filter. Upgraded the oil. Recently it has gotten louder but only when cold. Goes away completly after it has warmered up for 3-4 minutes, and runs perfect. Is there a cure? I've searched poests and people have had this problem before. What do i need to do to get this to go away?

Please help

Welcome to the forum. I have the same cold start knock. Doesn't seem to do any harm. I've never found a cause, but I suspect one of my cylinders is out of round and that noise is actually the piston slapping against the cylinder wall.

I did a valve adjust a few weeks back.. never noticed the cold tick til I started parking in the garage.. lasts about a minute or so.. no idea what it is. Maybe this is "normal"?

What's weird that mine got loader after the valve adjusment. Before it was faint and went away rather quickly. Now until the car is fully warmed up.
I dropped it off at my mechanic last night. We'll see what he says
