FYI... This car is a joy to drive. I have taken it for a few drives on my own while he's sleeping in. This is his first stick - I'm working with him on the heel-toe concept. What really impresses me about the vehicle is the suspension. I'm getting used to the front-drive response. The shifter location and throw lengths are excellent. I want to get this thing on a track ASAP.

Has anyone seen one with the body side moldings from Honda? He will be parking this at college and any door dings are going to kill it. The only good news is that the college he goes to in detroit is known for turning out automotive stylists. So, the quality of vehicles in the parking ramp are of high caliber (lots o tuners) and most are serious about their cars.

Also, we titled it in his name. I was amazed at how reasonable the insurance cost was for a vehicle with this type of performance. Talk about cost-effective fun!

Anyway, thanks for the welcome. We basically spend our time talking about the car. Great father-son bonding experience.

 

thats like that focus commercial, where the parents steal their sons car and go joyriding. too bad the engineers at ford arent as creative as the marketing guys.

Welcome to the forum. Ive got an '02 Si like your son's. I agree that its great to drive and suprisingly low insurance. Mine is completely in my name and Im only 19. With 2 tickets. And 5 warnings. But its still relatively low. Just keep a close watch. Ive had my fun (too much as u can see by my signature) but the last thing anybody needs is high insurance and costly tickets. They seriously do watch for our cars on the road. Good luck with the car and good choice.
