Hey people i have a problem. I own an '03 Honda Civic LX. Bought it last January and it was pre-owned. It's been probably 2 months since ive noticed a ringing noise everytime i accelerate. Anyone have a clue?

 

Oh this is a problem with your Honda Civic LX ! It's not a big issue I guess. May be it's noise of your mobile phone or an I pod. I don't think this car sounds too much...Hehehe and even its sound its good. I too even possess this car and didn't encounter with any problem yet.

 

Define the noise differently. "Ringing" makes me think of a cell phone ringing. Do you mean screeching, a patterned knocking, a high pitched ringing from a worn bearing?

 

Ok more of a rattling noise. I listened under my hood yesterday and the sound is originating from ( excuse my car knowledge ) where spark plugs are. Only rattles when I accelerate or when the engine is cold. Is it something I'll have to tighten or replace maybe? I appreciate the feedback

 

So i took my car to get checked out at a honda dealership and they told me its my Exhaust Manifold. It has a crack on it which makes one if the sounds( fump fump fump fump) when its at a cold start. Then the second is a rattle noise. They told me total cost would come around $1,031. I looked up a DIY video and the replacement does not look difficult at all.

Now the only help i need is choosing which Exhaust Manifold to purchase. What brands or what do you recommend? Im not lookng for a performance one just one that will last me a few years without cracking again. Thanks
