Default 90 si hatch

Hey..new to this site, up here in Canada. I just picked up a 90 si hatch for $500. It has some hi km's on it but its real clean, next to no rust, only real problem with it is it blows blue. My friend and I determined its valve seals.
The cars runs and drives great otherwise, it pulls up hills real well, tracks straight and no problems while driving. It seems to have been taken care of or maintained through its life. Ive driven other years of hatches with less km's and are clunky. noisy and quite gutless.
Up here in this area these cars are still going for as much as $4000 (90 si's).
Anyways your site has some good info on it as found through the search. I hope there is a few members who also have this gen of civic to share info with.
Immediate future upgrades I plan to do after fixing things first are:
Center console with cup holder (Integra?)
Newer or more stylish rims off another honda
Tinted rear windows
2 tone paint, black/red ; its currently red
And maybe air conditioning (I'll have to research this)

thanks, Bernie

sounds like you have some pretty good mods lined up. i have a 90 dx i believe sitting at my house right now for my winter vehicle. i dont know about the blue smoke from the car, but if your engine is about to go out, then maybe look into an engine swap.

welcome to the forum

Sounds good, and yeah civics can take quite a beating and still run strong.

welcome fellow 4g owner.

yeah 94 and up integra console will fit, can't really be explained to well, you just have to get in your car and figure it out. not really difficult took about 30 minutes to do.

99-00 civic si rims look mint of 4g's, mine had them for a while

ac would be kind of difficult, but you really just need a donor vehicle to get all the parts from, all new seals and stuff from the dealship and a nice recharge. i think this would be more trouble than its worth tho.

Thanks for the tips. I'll be rummaging through the wreckers for some updated stuff. As for an engine swap, I'll see if I can get rid of the blue smoke with the valve seal change. Then keep the swap in mind for the future. I know the a/c will be a bit of a stretch, would be nice in the 100 summers tho[8D]

Ive found a leak in the rad, on the top where the tank meets the core. A new one is $125. Is there a better one that has a metal top or more durable then the stock one out of a newer civic or integra, accord ect.?
