Default Another new guy, need a civic to go with my pilot

Hi All!

Cool looking forum here. I rolled over from hondapilot.org, since I just bought a 2005 pilot oh, about 8 months ago.

Im looking at getting a civic to replace my jeep. I need a 4 door, have to have a stick - would like a moonroof too. A big enough engine to play with and have some fun doing some mods on, other than that my needs are more aesthetic than anything. I want a cool ride!

I dont know much about the line, and since I would like to save some money getting a used one, I thought I might ask the totally open question of - what should I be looking for? Any specific years that are really good deals? My local dealer has alot of used civics in the lot, but I would like to narrow it down. Looking to purchase in 6 to 8 weeks.

I know this is another "what should I buy" question, kinda, but its really "point me in the right direction as to what I should be looking at" - I dont know what years the body styles changed, whats better equipment to be looking at, etc. So feel free to edumacate me!

And thanks for having me on your boards here,

Eric

You will only find a 4 door manual with a sunroof in the EX model. That would be the top of the line 4 door. If you want to play around with it, I wouldnt go out and get a 7th gen (2001-2005) as for they are a pain to mod.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum.I like the 92-95 probley cause I have one.Aftermarket parts are a dime a dozen the ex and si come in the d16z6 vtec.I think they are the easyest and cheapest things to mod.

I guess heres the big question then - what models come with a 4 door option? I definately want the 6 cyl model, the nicer engine.

Thanks for helping me narrow things down here guys!

There is no 6 cylinder model for the civic (only the accords) But I think only the lx model is 4 doors. Ex's are two doors but they have the better engine.

4 door civics came in DX-the base model, manual windows, manual mirrors, 100ish hp engine
LX has power windows, power door locks, and power mirrors and some other things i cant remember, it has the same engine as the DX
EX is the top of the line in 4 doors, it has what the LX has plus a power sunroof, and a more powerful engine

hope that helps
