My 96 Civic DX does not have a tach, but wanted to buy a cluster from a 98 LX and just replace mine. Is there anything special I will have to do or is it plug and play. Both my car and the LX are both manual. Just curious how difficult this is...just really would like to have a tach...

 

It should be both the same, there isnt a difference in motor.. so it should be the same.. if it looks the same then it is, the connectors wont be different.

 

there should be two wires, maybe one, im not sure. but they are not used right now with the DX cluster, but when you install the LX one they should just plug up. your car is wired for a tach, just doesnt have one connected.
