put a 5 speed in it?... i'm kidding, i don't know much about automatics, let me read my haynes manual for a minute and i'll see if it can tell me anything about it.

edit: first off check your trans fluid, make sure that isn't low or over-filled... if that is okay, then you can also check your shift cable adjustment.

to do that remove the center console, unlock your shift **** and put it into neutral (with the ebrake engaged). there are 2 holes in the end of the shift cable, they should be perfectly aligned. if they aren't, loosen the locknut on the shifter cable and move the adjuster until it is perfectly aligned with the hole in the shift cable, then retighten the locknut.

if neither of those things are the problem, then i don't know what to tell you.

I haven't had a similar problem with my honda, but I did drive a dodge intrepid for a while. The car did something very similar when my O2 sensor was failing, after I replaced it, the problem fixed itself. It could be a sensor somewhere, maybe a crankcase sensor, not even sure if honda's have them, but worth a shot I guess.

Sorry I can't be of more help :-(
