Default Hello from the newbie

Hello,

I am 35 years old an the original owner of a 2002 Honda Civic EX 2 door with 67,000 miles on it. So far the car has been virtually maintainence free (regular oil changes, new tires). I intend to use the car as my daily driver for several more years. As the years go on and I need to replace suspension, brakes, etc I would like to replace stock parts with something a little beefier. I would like to eventually use the car as a race car exclusively (I live near Lime rock, CT). Any recommendations on what modifications I can do to the car while it is my daily driver (thus keeping it street legal) that will be of benefit when I use it as a racer..

Will post a pic soon.

Thanks

Bob

Wish you had a 2000 or older but you can do almost anything to a civic. I would get headers intake exhaust. But those parts aren't ever going to wear out on you. Closest you may come is an o2 senor. So really you have to want to do it. Suspension may need to be done but not until a whole lot of miles. ITs a honda after all. Parts don't seem to wear out. O and congrats on being old. Not too many old ppl here.

if you can afford it, the best power mod to do is the swap from an RSX-type S. it will nearly double your horsepower. but it will be awhile before you NEED a new engine, so i think thats going agaist the plan. but maybe the brake assemblies from an RSX-S?
