Oddly enough I have 2 Honda Civics. a '90 LX (manual) and a '94 Del Sol (automatic). The LX is more or less mine (birthday present, I just have to pay for everything else), but the Del Sol is kinda my dad's. He explained that we could sell the Del Sol and do maintainance on the DX (which it needs pretty badly, imo) or sell my LX and fix up the Del Sol and I could keep it. Now.. I know just about nothing about cars (but I'm a very very eager learner) and I was curious if you guys could give me any tips or pointers to help me with my decision. I would very much like to use the money I get from selling one of the cars to mod the other and I'm not sure how to go about doing that. Any advice would be *greatly* appreciated.

 

Well, only because the del sol is an auto am i saying this, but i'd sell that and mod the LX. Oh yeah, and welcome to the forum!!

 

first he should pull the engine from the del sol and put it in the civic.

That's what I was thinkin', but if he can use the money from the sale of the del Sol to mod the Lx, I say sell and mod.

 

yea, the swap is a good idea but it will render the del sol worthless.

 

I say that he should do a tranny swap on the del sol and fix it up. Del sol are kinda sorta rare and would be hard to give up over a 90' civic.

 

..sorry to be a noob.. but.. you can do that?? How much would something like that cost? Now FYI.. I Talked it over with my dad and the Del Sol isn't mine.. and he decided not to sell it. So I'm stuck to modding my car using just my natural income. Oh and.. according to my dad, the engine in the LX is actually newer than the one in the Del Sol.. I got the car from a guy who specialises in fixing up Hondas and supposedly he put a newer engine in it.. I don't relaly know how to tell what 'kind' of engine it is or anything.
Also.. y'all have any tips on what I should mod first? Like.. "oh it's best to get a custom cold air intake first" or something. Or maybe y'all could tell me what kind of stickers I could put on to make it run faster (J/K )

Haha put a Type R sticker on it +10hp jk jk but as for mods you should look into the future of your car what other mods your planning to do like going with NA or SC or turbo what kind of car you want it as. A daily driver or weekend racer. Good thing to start plan out what kind of car yo uwant it as.
