As I said before in a previous post, im looking for a 2000-2003 civic coupe, with the five speed v-tech. What diff. engine sizes are going to be available to me? 1.6l 1.8l ? Any info would be greatly appreciated as seeing im kind of ignorant to the civic world right now [sm=smiley4.gif]

 

The only 01 to 03 coupe with vtec you can get is the ex and it has a 1.7 sohc vtec engine. The only 01-05 civic with a larger engine than a 1.7 is the SI and it has a 2.0 dohc I-Vtec

 

You didn't include the 2000 model in that, does that year have to be an ex to have the v-tech?

 

The 2000 is a 6th gen civic and the 01 is a 7th gen civic.

The 00 comes in ex with a sohc 1.6 vtec making 128hp and the 00 civic si comes in coupe version with a dohc b16 making 160hp. The 00 SI is a fan favorite among civic owners as it is the only civic up untill 01 to have a dohc vtec engine and it is a coupe. the 01-05 SI is a hatchback but looks like crap in alot of peoples eyes, it weighs to much, and it never won anyone over.

00 civic si = B16A2 1.6 DOHC VTEC 160hp and around 2600lbs



00 civic ex = D16Y8 1.6 SOHC VTEC 128hp and around 2500lbs




01 Civic ex = D17A2 1.7 SOHC 127hp and around 2550lbs




01 civic si = K20A2 2.0 DOHC 160hp and around 2800lbs

 

Wait, the 1.6 has more power than the 1.7l sohc?
