Hello, im new here and just bought a 95 honda civic dx. I know a little here and there about cars and im trying to find out about increaseing speed...I heard about cold air intakes both good and bad things. Does anyone have any information on them? Thanks.

Use the search button, I'm sure you'll find a ton of info on them.

If you're looking for a small gain that you'll actually notice. CAI won't cut it by itself. You'll need to do a new exhaust and header as well.

There is no downside to an intake... it only lets your car breathe better... adding more components gets expensive but keeps letting your car breathe and fart easier. That's what it loves to do. Breathe and fart.

with an intake you will get a noticeable incrase of about 2-5 mpg, depending on your driving and stuff. also, a pretty sweet sound, and if you get an acctuall cai, make sure that your inner fender and the plastic on the underside of your front bumper block off the rain, cuz if you drive in the rain, your CAI is going to suck up that water like mad, which will make your car run worse, or worst case secanrio your car could "hydro-lock"
