Hello everyone! I just bought an '88 civic 4dr auto from my friend. It has 130K on it and runs alright.
The car looks like garbage because he took the panels off and did a bad body fill job and half painted it primer gray.
I've recently had some problems. First, the car is an electrical disaster. Wires coming out from who-knows-where that I don't know what the heck they are for. Random lights (seat belt and trunk light and blinker) flashing and glowing for no reason while I'm driving. Also the car tends to stall when I turn on the AC but this only seems to happen when the engine is cold (not that I know the temp as the gauge doesn't work). It also sometimes stalls when I start it and let it idle for a minute.

What I was wondering what might be the cause and if anyone knows where I could get some good electrical schematics/diagrams for this car so I can get everything back to normal.

I'm in the same boat just got an 88 Civic DX 5spd.. does anyone know if the taillights off a CRX or a HB would fit...i wanna change to a carbon fiber or black housing lamp...

 

Yeah they will fit... but don't get mad at me if i am wrong.... but i am like 98% sure they fit....also i second getting one of the 2 books named... they are a must if u plan on doing any work on your car

I have the Haynes manual for a saturn and it really really sucks for the electrical part. Maybe it's different for the civic or maybe I should just get an FSM. I saw one on ebay today.

 

buying projecters for the Civc is confusing as hell some say civic/crx or some say civic/civicHB which one will fir the 4th gen sedan...same question for short shifters, gauges,intakes,exhaust...ness some help
