Hey guys I am getting my first civic (3rd honda if you count my acura). I am getting it to counteract the 12mpg my Nissan Titan gets. Its my GFs old car that I am buying when her lease ends in febuary.

It is an 03 manual sedan. I am going to be putting ~6k into stereo into it so I'll be in the audio forum most of the time, I just thought I would introduce myself.

 

welcome!! 6 grand in audio!..that thing better pound and look good, get some SPL numbers up..i hit a 138 with my subs last year..not very high, but with a 250w amp and 350W subs..i think its decent

6k spends really fast when talking about car audio... The cables to wire the thing are $400, upgraded alternator, $400, two kinetik batteries, 250.... thats already 1000 and none of it is stereo.. All the electronics I am putting in it should come to ~3k with the nav, dvd, and headrest monitors, then the amps are going to be ~1000, and speakers about 1000..

My truck (04 nissan titan) has ~10k in stereo now, but I think that I can make the civic sound better than that with only 6k.

I go for SQL not SPL, I have never been much of a bass head, I love seeing them in shows, but would hate to commute in one. For my civic I will only be doing 2 Diamond audio d612d4s on a 1000w amp. I will probably fiberglass everything but I am not sure yet.

Yes its going to be my commuter. No plans on showing it, I need way more money if I wanted to show it.
