Default New Driver

Hello all,

I am about to turn 17 and become a new driver. I was looking for cars and pretty much fell into love with the honda civic. I only have a budget of 5000(parents set) so my question is what year and how many miles would you reccomend i get at that budget.

Thanks for your help, and i hope to learn a lot about civics on HCF.

Thats one i have found on craigslist.. My parents dont really want to buy from a private seller now because they are worried it may be stolen/lemon,etc and they want to look for it from a dealer. I am sure you can get better prices from a private seller, aside from carfax for the vehicle, what other things would be worth verifying?

I would say buy it from a person locally where you live so you can check it out personally....check this out http://www.samarins.com/check/engine.html or http://www.samarins.com/check/checklist.html
