Hey peeps, just thought I'd say hi. Picked up a pretty clean 96 dx coupe last year. ( wish it was a hatch). Just started working on some upgrades. Coilovers going in and new mad ignition coil and such. Any good websites for civic performance parts? Cant remember the one website I used to get parts from bout 10 years ago lol.
Welcome. Are those coils currently sitting in the lower fork? Assuming that you aren't finished with the install as it looks like there is a gap between the two pieces.
I doubt there is anything specific website for 5th/6th gen Civics at this point. What are you looking to purchase? When I used to own a 99, I'd look up manufacturers of the parts i wanted, find what worked best for the car and my budget, then find a vendor.
Ya those coils are seated as far as I know lol. First time installing them. As far as parts just looking for reputable places. Ebay keeps saying things wont fit even tho it says it will in the description lol.
Maybe I'm just not seeing in the pic. There should be a (smaller) portion of the coilover that should slide into the lower fork.
Search forums and other knowledgeable sites for knowledge about what fits your vehicle. I wouldn't trust high volume resellers on eBay to set their listings up correctly.
What's next on the list of mods? I don't mind providing a few suggestions on brands to look into.
Well I'd like to get a b16 or b18 and swap out. Possibly turbo. Gotta fix the interior up lol its outdated hahaha. Then rims. Buy ya the coils did slide into the forks possibly just a bad angle from the picture. would like to do front upper and rear lca's soon.
added the msd ignition stuffs yesterday
Figure out your goals and budget and go from there. I can see you have an auto trans by that pic. If you swap motors, it sounds like you will need to swap to a manual trans too. These auto trans will not take kindly to extra power from something like a turbo.
Was your stock distributor bad? The oem ignition systems have been known to be good for high horsepower builds. If people upgrade they go with a coil on plug conversion. Sounds like you have a long ways to go in terms of research. You won't be able to find a bolt on turbo kit unless you buy some bull**** eBay kit or find one used in a part out or something.

The stock distributor cap bolts froze and snapped off so I grabbed a new one. The research was done years ago I just gotta figure out if I wanna turbo the car or go all motor. thats the hard part. Def both have good points to them. Unfortunately for me here in cny it's not easy to find b series motors all over lol
CNY is either Chinese currency or Central New York or wtf it even means? And finding B series motors is not difficult...also Ks now are all over junk yards.
