Default New Guy from Georgia! (maybe)

Herro peeps! Looking at buying a 1998 Honda Civic EX w/ 154k miles this Friday (should all go well) for $1900. I'm trying to find my new daily driver, looking for MPG and reliability.

The car I'm looking at is a coupe, blue in color (looks very similar to the Si blue, but not sure if it's factory or an aftermarket paint job), appears to be lowered (but could be the crappy cell phone pic kids take these days), and stock appearing on the inside. I believe this car is unmolested, but is having some transmission issues (it's an automatic). No clue what those issues are yet, but I'll see for myself when I go for a test drive!

Looking forward to reading thru some threads on what mods to do in order to increase fuel economy and maybe a bit of performance too! Performance is last on the list for the Civic, as I already own a fire breathing 660rwhp 1300 lbs/tq diesel truck. So... this little guy will stay stock for a while.

Are there any issues I need to be concerned with for the 1998 models? Any particular spots I should look for in the engine bay for leaks and that kinda thing? Thanks in advance!

Here's the ride under review... gotta love the pot leaf sticker on the inside of the car
