RE: new guy here
burn outs are done most commonly by yanking up the e brake, revving up the motor and dumping the clutch but there is now need for a burn out unless you have racing slicks which require to be heated up before a run, street tires do not need to be heated up with the exception of a few drag radials.
launching all depends on how much work is done to your motor and suspension and how good of tires you have for traction. so just get out there and keep trying different RPM's til you find the right one your comfortable with.
Good luck, let's know your numbers when you get back from the track.

my best numbers are with a street launch. just leave it at or near idle, then launch like youre taking off quick from a streetlight. if i start overthinking it, i just roast the hell out of the tires. if you have an LSD or drag radials, then its a little different, as you can get better times by launching at a higher RPM.
