Default Newbie Intro - '88 in Memphis Area

Hello everyone.

I just picked up an '88 Civic that needs some TLC. My 17-year-old son will be driving it, and will probably join this forum as well. The car seems solid, but needs quite a bit of regular maintenance that seems to have been deferred:
[ol][*]Radiator...definitely leaking.[*]Battery...definitely dead.[*]Brake light switch...apparently stuck, brake lights won't go out.[*]Seats...shredded.[*]LF Fender...slightly wrinkled.[*]Brakes...quite a bit of vibbbbbration under heavy braking.[*]Undetermined road noise, could be tire(s), could be bearing(s), could be CV joints.[*]Other cosmetic stuff.[/ol]
The 4-speed transmission and clutch seem good, and the motor runs very well. I'll post the tech questions in the appropriate sections, this is just an intro.

I operate a forum for Isuzu P'ups (that's short for "pickup" and was the actual truck name from 1983 to 1987. If this forum is as helpful as the P'up forum, it will be lots of fun.

Jack
