Hi, I'm Kristen. I've got a '91 Accord right now, and I'm looking to replace her with a '99-'00 Civic LX auto, working a/c. I'm looking at a Civic instead of a new Accord, because it's cheaper, more plentiful, and good on gas.

I guess my biggest problem is nothing you guys can help with: no working car right now to check out the deals on CL that disappear within a day or two. There are almost never any Civics or Accords for sale in my immediate area, where I might get a friend to give me a ride. Can't afford dealer mark-up. Don't know what to look for at an auction or private sale and no friends who know cars.

But hopefully I'll learn a little bit about what to look for here. I'll be cruising around looking for advice on buying, eyeballing CL, etc.
