my grandpa's giving me his 2001 civic, LX i believe, anyway it's automatic and i'm not sure if it has a tach or not, is it possable to add one?

 

I believe you can either buy an aftermarket tach and add it or buy a gauge cluster that already has one, and then swap the cluster.

The 02' LX comes standard with a tach. It shows it in the brochure that I got when buying my EX. So I would think the 01's have one too.

Yes, as negoti8or said, you CAN add one, in one of two ways. Buy an aftermarket one and mount it on the dash (or wherever), or find a car like yours in a scrap yard or whatever and take the gauge cluster out of it, and put it in your car.
