Default Oil change

Has anyone used Lucas additives or Duralube when they did their oil change? I wanted to get some feedback. Also, motor oil selection (Mobile 1, Pennzoil, Castrol, etc...) what is best?

I already picked up the K&N air and oil filter, since I already had a bad experience with a Fram one.

Replies would be great.

My understanding of Lucas is that it makes your oil "thicker" almost, and helps it coat stuff for more lubrication per revolution or etc..

It will help an older engine in a heartbeat, and can help knocking and stuff like that, but I wouldn't really think it would be needed for a good running engine. If you stay true to what Honda wants, 5w30/40, you will get better gas mileage, and good engine life out of the car.

Most cars tell you not to ever add additives, unless you just have something like knocking or etc.. that you wan't to try and repair.

If its running right, I wouldn't add a thing, just keep it fresh.

Agree. All I have ever run is Mobil 1. I used to run Castrol, but its just the name your buying there more or less, unless your full synthetic, and even then I think Mobil 1 runs better.

Default RE: How do I reset the Oil Life

In January, I got my 07 Honda Civic Sedan. After my first scheduled oil change, I noticed that the oil life option on the dashboard had not been reset. I've checked the manual and have tried holding buttons down and still now luck. Now my oil life indicator is down to 15% and I have a maintenance light on that I have no idea now to turn it off. Does anybody know how to reset this function. Any ideas would be appreciated.
