Hi all,
I'm new to this forum and would like to hear some opinions about my situation. I currently own a 1999 Ford Expedition and I'm thinking about the possibility of doing a trade with a friend for a a 2000 Honda Civic DX Coupe. My Expedition has 107,000 miles and my friend's Civic only 42500. Kelley Blue Book shows the value of both vehicles very close (Expedition: 7645 vs Civic: 7755). Both vehicles are in good condition (engine, paint and interiors).
My only reservation is that the Civic lacks A/C. What do you guys think about the deal? Also, if I do the deal would it be worthy to add A/C to Civic?

what r ur goals if u would get the civic hp, dd, both etc. If it is hp then your going to have to spend some cash to get that engine up to par unless u swap or turbo. If it is dd then the civic is of course ALOT better on gas than the expedition. Everyone i know who owns a civic loves em' but it's your call man!!

 

if your just looking for a daily driver, the civic will give you a very long and relialbe life. and good gas mileage. the a/c thing is your choice, its nice to have but not a nessesity.

 

take the civic man....better gas..and u can start modding it....and Welcome....

 

Welcome to the forum. I would go with the civic for sure. Theyre very easy to find and apply mods to and it will save you a bundle on gas money.

 

Yes, it is for daily driving and my motivation is the lower gas consumption. Thanks to all of you for your replies. I'll go for it.

 

Glad to hear youre going for it. You wont be disappointed. It will outlast the Expedition by far. Not to mention saving you a ton on gas.

 

The dx is the best one for mileage, and using the ac just wastes more gas. (i always just open my windows)

 

Good point. Besides, I just got a quick quote and it would be ~$1600. OOOuuuchhh!!!!

 

Yeah because the dx are the base model so it does not have ANY ac equipment, it would all have to be installed.
