Default sayin hey

here is my story........ my senior year i bought the first car that i could afford.. same thing any other 17 year old kid would do, and obviously the civc is the best car you can get. i had it all summer and through my first year at college then when the next summer came my engine blew. it was a 97 EX coupe. so for the past 7 months i have had my civic sitting in my garage with the motor ripped out. this past few weeks i have been home and decided to go to a community college and buy a motor for my civic. so i ended up getting the b16a2. got a pretty solid deal from this place and have the entire swap for 2500 tranny ecu shift linkage mounts sensors wiring harness axels, the whole shabang. im expecting it to be on the road in less then a week. im really fired up about this and i was jsut wondering if any one here has a b16a swap that they would like to share a little what its gonna be like drivin........ peace

haha. um... i actually had a discussion about the B16 swap for my civic with everyone here man. check out some of the discussion but B16 isn't bad.... but it isn't good either. Unless u have lots of $$$ then u are wasting ur time on a stock B16 which isn't far off from a D16 except in HP. the B16 really kicks in at 4500 RPMs from what i've heard so it'd be good for racers... but for daily driver i would stick with a D16 or get a B18 or better.

if you already have the b16, stick with it. i had one in my 95 dx coupe for almost a year. it was SOOOO much fun, i loved driving it. though its not real exciting under 4500 rpms, its still got a little oomph. and the low gearing gets you above 4500 pretty quick. its a blast to drive really hard. get a new intake manifold and a set of cams and gears, and it will be a pretty low-budget beast. i wouldnt have gotten rid of it except for the stupid california smog laws, (cant smog a 95 with a 94 motor) so now i am sporting a 96 jdm gsr motor everything the b16 isnt. but youll like the b16 plenty.

I done the conversion on my civic coupe and love it mate.Much better than the d16 i had and more easy to tune. i have bits of a turbo kit here that im putting together so hopefully that should be fun!!! and the b16 and b18 aint much appart, my mate has a b18 vtis and we perform on a par.
