I own a 95 Civic Ex and this weekend just did a flop-flop trunk mod according to the DIY.. now it works and all but when it closes it doesnt close at the same time. I was hoping someone may know what may counter this problem allowing me to open and close the trunk in the new position. My second question is whether anybody knows exactly what tools I will need to attach side view mirrors to my car, I am looking to put either Mazda RX8 mirrors or MiniCooper mirrors on the civic..Thanks guys

 

i havn't done that mod so i don't know and welcome to hcf

 

when you took the trunk off did you mark it so it lines up perfectly when you close it? ..thats probably your problem, put your trunk back the way it was, mark it..and start all over

and you cant just get any mirrors on the car, your going to need to do some fabrication

 

It is installed correctly, it is currently attached to the stock brackets because of this problem.. the problem is the it doesnt move as a single unit rather it moves as two seperate pieces..

 

There should be something in the how to about putting locks on it to hold it in place so it moves as one unit when you want to use the trunk normally..... And welcome to the site.
