What the hell is this?
This is my first honda and I'm just trying to figure out what I'm working with.
I came across this this car at a junkyard in California and drove it all the way to Georgia.
It burned about half a quart of oil by the time I touched down. I 've driven Nissans for the past five years
and the first thing I noticed with the honda is that the top end power and the weight of the vehicle is incredible. The car is from CANADA, 1988 CIVIC DX HATCHBACK, D15B1 BLOCK, PM3-7 (8/8) HEAD, 4 SPEED TRANNY. Could anyone let me know the hp, tq, and gear ratios on this car?
I do have to say that the car goesbeyond 95mph in 3rd is just crazy. And the car is just a little torquier than I thought a honda was. Thanks for any help you could give me. One glove!

Thanks for the info Lost! I'm a little concerned about the hp though, It feels faster than 70hp or could it be the weight of the vehicle? Anyway, like I said I'm new to honda power and I due notice hard pulls after a certain rpm. I notice the head looks a lot newer than the block, is this right? D15B1 with D16A6 is it logical?
With an engine that old its expectyed to burn a little oil. While its not good for it, it wont really hurt it either unless you let it get too low. Anyhow, enjoy your car and welcome to HCF
Appreciate the invite whatup! Here's some info on me 23/M/Georgia border/88' Civic
and I think I know what the owner did before me, I believe he took an Si head and mated it to the standard D15B! Are honda parts really that easy to change? 1.6L head to 1.5L block I don't know...
compression feels high though.
