If you really enjoy modifying a car, get the turbo. If you just want something fast that won't require much work, sell it. Chances are you'll find that the new, fast car has a lot of aftermarket support as well. It's a vicious cycle.

I would boost the Ex it is a great motor to turbo as are all d series engines. With only 84k on the motor it is perfect to turbo. Check out turbod16.com

i have alittle bit. here all you honda turbo people that know what is good and bad. would this be a bad set up if i pieced it together?

An IHI turbo w/ cast downpipe that was on a Honda Civic 1.6. This originally came off a MAZDA mx6 turbo, my friend used it with a different manifold on a Civic. We upgraded his stuff, so these parts are for sale! first: IHI Turbo (internal wastegate 8lbs., used a boost controller (not included) to get 11 to 12 lbs). This turbo works w/ almost any 1.6 - 2.2 liter motor, but you need to get the right manifold (off ebay maybe) for your car. Second:. Cast MAZDA 2.2 manifold. Third:. Cast IHI turbo Downpipe, with o2 sensor. Fourth:. Front Mounted Intercooler (from a mazda, worked great on the civic!) Fifth:. blow off valve (not shown). All works great. You will need intercooler tubing and connnectors (once again, ebay), an oil line kit (I have a brand new stainless hose/alloy fitting one I could sell for $80 ,, cost over $100 new) and a boost controller ((if you want to go over 8 lbs of boost)). This will let you turbo your Honda Civic 1.6 for way cheap!!! Just the turbo would sell for what the whole kit is going for

HF manifold w/ custom adapter plate with the IHI turbo ftw. I had an IHI turbo at one point, pretty small, does the trick, convenient. FMIC can be found on ebay or HomeMadeTurbo, Turbod16.com, etc., BOV can be found in the same places (classifieds), 2.5" charge piping with T-Clamps, Stealthmodeperformance.com has good oil line kits, and a boost controller isn't necesarry unless you're going to up the boost, but its smart to have if you plan on making changes to your setup in the future.

lol... you've never owned a VW before, have you? I've never heard a VW owner say anything about wanting to buy another one... I wonder why that is

At any rate, read through the stickies for what you need to boost
