Blah, get rid of that engine pronto, it's going to make all sorts of problems and is easily one of the weakest D motors.

yeah i have been told that. so if i still wanted to have a d and turbo it would the y8 work or is it still completely different?
or would i just be better off doing a complete engine swap?

IMO id swap in a D16z6 w/ a 96-00 EX manual tranny and build and turbo that.

I have an HX aswell. The y5 is not the weakest motor at all, it's just the lack of aftermarket parts and lack of experience have dealing with this motor. I would swap out the y5 tranny though and put an ex one in there. People that have turboed the y5 motor seemed to have more tq then hp.

If you're interested in the y5 still, take a look at this thread.

I have more threads saved as well, so if you want more info on the y5 just pm me.
