Auto tranny BOV
it should because its adjustable pressure. and its run a lot by vacuum, not just boost, so the vacuum should pull it open just fine. though it may take a bit of adjusting the tension screw on it to get it to work right, and not bleed off boost.
thanks caleb, im going to keep the auto then. I wouldnt mind tradin mine for a stick BUT my car has been babied all its life.......and i doubt i can find a manual thats been takin as good of care as mine.
i still say to keep an eye out for a spare trans and a new torque convertor, so when yours craps out, you have another one ready. or start pulling together the parts for a manny conversion. you WILL eventually kill that slushbox though. so its good to be prepared.

no. the pssshhht is the excess boost bleeding off when the throttle plate closes so that the turbo doesnt lose as much spool.

thats the common school of thought, though it wont actually turn backwards. the turbines are spinning well in excess of 100000 rpms, and if the throttle plate slams shut, and there is nowhere for the boost to go, it will slow the blades down very quickly, which puts a HUGE amount of stress on them. with a bov, the air is vented before it has much of a chance to slow the turbines by slamming all that pressure into them.
What i meant when i said that the PSHHT is wasted horsepower is that the BOV is venting the boost into the air in an external BOV. There are internal BOV that vent the boost back into the intake.
