You could get a VTEC controller at the very least, but on an otherwise stock motor, it is best to keep VTEC where it is.

Setting the vtec engagement properly requires two dyno runs. First, you do a run with the vtec completely off. Then, you do a run with vtec engaged the entire time. Where the two horsepower lines cross on the dyno graph is where vtec should engage. Basically, Honda put it where it needs to be on a stock car from the factory; unless you have some serious mods (turbo, cam(s), etc), it's best to not play with the engagement point.

Good explanation. Thanks Reaper. I couldn't figure out how to effectively get that across without typing up like 3 paragraphs since I would go way too far into detail.
