i have a 91si with a sohc zc non vtec, i have skunk60mm tb, skunk manny, egay cai, 2.5 exhaust all the way, flowed cat, dc header. does anybody have exp with boosting this engine? any good advice for turbo? i have not owned a boosted car before and i would love to do it to my rex. ive seen and riden in some boosted b16 rex's and they are bad to the bone. i would just like to stick with the motor i already have to save money. what you guys think?

 

You can boost anything, just dont go too crazy and make sure you get a good tune.

 

yah, just want to hear from someone w personal exp w this engine on boost. peppy as is but i would love to spank some other people round here that like to **** talk me. can already beat some of them but i want to really beat them bad. maybe even a zex kit, i dunno.

 

consider swapping for a DOHC ZC?

 

An EG kit will work fine on a SOHC ZC.

 

dont want dohc zc, no more power than i have now and weighs more. if i swap it will be a b16a. the dohc may have more torque but i have a buddy who has one in his 88 and i can keep with him. neither one of us can beat the other, cept nose here and there. B16 for me any day, tons of aftermarket for that one. or maybe frankenstein an ls vtec w a turbo. i know a kid who has one and his car is a phuqin screamer!

 

LS/VTECs are damn fast if theyre done right. but its a hard conversion. if youre not 100% sure on what you're doing get someone like Mugen or Spoon to do it...one of the experts.

exactly. LS block with a B18C head and a B16 crank can easily rev between 8 and 9k and still make power. but it'll cost ya to get the VTEC to work
