Boost and VTEC ?
Does vtec work well with a turbo? Let's say you want to boost a b16a2, would you do anything different then boosting a b18 ls? What if you ran 6 psi on both of them? Which would be faster top end, and which low end? B16a2 would make more horsepower, but the B18 would make more torque.
they would probably be pretty close. but the b16 is just a generally better motor due to the extra cost and development that goes into producing it. but the tuning would be trickier on it, as there is less room for error in a high compression motor.
I didn't know if it would make a difference if you boosted a motor with vtec or not. I was looking at swaps and the b16a2 swap is only 50$ more then the ls. I'm pretty sure the gear ratios in the b16 tranny r better then the ls, which would make me a lil faster. I just can't decide which one to get. I've seen 2 integras almost identical body but one had a b18 ls with over 150,000 on it and come bolt ons. The other integra has a jdm b16a1 with some bolt ons and like 70,000 on it, the ls one whooped his ***! I know he can't be that much of a btter driver. . . .
ls would be slightly easier, you dont have to run a couple of wires to the ecu. thats about it. i would go b16 if it were me. thats as good of an answer as anyone can really give you. both would be pretty good, and ive seen both done up as beasts with a turbo, but me personally, i would go B16. i like top end power more than low-end grunt.
