Default d16y7 turbo

i wanna turbo my stock d16y7 motor. but i dont want to spend to much.. whats the best way to go. ino i can buy it piece buy piece with brand name stuff or go really cheap and try my luck with the ebay turbo's.. ino you guys are gonna say dont go with the ebay but i read alot about them and everyone who bought it and slowly broke them in correctly said it lasted them for a long time and never had problems.. but others say it blows up and smokes and wat not... so yea any suggestions?

Just say NO to no-name ebay turbos. You can piece together a kit for cheap if you shop around. It's gonna cost you $1500-2000 for a decent setup and a decent tune.

treadstone kits run around 1500 and they use garret turbos.

I'm also working on a y7 boost project. Mine is definitely a budget build. I'm working on a parts list. It'll be up in my project thread at some point but probably not this week.

dude just so you know ebay isn't a brand its a whole bunch of people selling things so one guy might buy a turbo setup off of ebay and it will work till the car dies but another guy buys a turbo setup and it blows up 3months down the road it all depends on the quality of the setup that you buy.

^This is correct. It's just that the majority of junk on ebay are sellers mass posting no-name copies of other turbos.
