difference in intercoolers

What is the pros and cons of having a side mount intercooler rather than a front mount?

better cooling with the front mounts.

more air hits FMIC and they are usually bigger

ok so better cooling with front mounts, but wouldnt the side mount get to the turbo faster?
also.
on a civic dx with 135,000miles on it, how many lbs of boost is reccomended with stock internals?

Side mounts are smaller, lighter, and are better protected than front mounts. Their mounting positions limit airflow, fmic will just about always be your best bet.
