Edelbrock Turbo on 2000 Civic Si
I'm new to this forum, but I'm having trouble withan Edelbrock Performer X Turbo Kit installed on a 2000 Civic Si and thought I'd see if anyone has gone through this or has any ideas. Installation took about 3 days, but it started up fine afterwards, had check engine light come on once, and then later went away. Everything is ok, except that I am only getting up to 1 to 2 psi boost maximum (it is supposed to deliver between 6 and 8 psi, with Vtec kicking in at 2 psi and above). I am trying to troubleshoot through Edelbrock, but so far not finding the cause of the problem. All wiring was double-checked, and all connections are good (no air or vacuum leaks).
I do know that the wastegate itself is NOT fully closed in its nominal position (meaning there is always some exhaust bypassing the turbo). When looking at the wastegate valve, and if fully open is 9 o'clock and fully closed is 1 o'clock, the nominal position is between 11 and 12 o'clock. Is this normal for a wastegate? Has anyone installed the Perform X Turbo Kit on the Civic Si and experienced similar problem?
