how much boost is safe
sohc motor is it safe to run -10 psi witha professional tunning it , but it wont be on a dyno just a tunner guy and all his stuff hooked up to the engine tunning it , it should be safe right, or is 8 psi all i can go

There is a sticky at the top of the turbo nitrous thread that addresses this.

took the words right out of my fingers..........basically the post is telling you to not base it on psi and base it on a certaint additional power level, in this case 50%. reason being is that all turbo's supply different air flow rates(cfm). for instance a t25 at 10psi will not flow nearly as much air as a t3 at 10psi generally speaking. for the most part sohc 1.6l engines have been known to make 200whp on stock internals and a good tune reliably.

Why would they yell in your face? D-series can easily make over 150...very easily. And I'll add that it can be very reliable also.
