i'm boosting my d16z6, i've started on the block got vitaras and eagle rods, and i have been planning on a new cam, springs and retainers, and cam gear, but all that is gonna cost a decent amount of money. so i was wondering if i could get to my power goal or close to it with a stock head. my goal is 250whp and if you don't think it will reach that then what would it reach?

That depends on how much boost you are running and on what size turbo, and the quality of the tune.

 

Thats def pushing it, but there are people that have gotten that amount on stock internals. You def should get it compression tested first and leak down tested, cause your motors going to need to be healthy. Search for more info and how to rent the tools for free.

 

the engine isn't in my car, it is completely taken apart and has been to the machine shop, the block was cleaned and honed and the head was cleaned and had the valves angeled or whatever it is they do to them and it was resurfaced
so it should be in good shape and as i said i'm putting in eagle rods and vitara pistons, i just don't know what the stock head is capable of making

 

I made just over 240whp at 10psi. The heads start to choke up around 400.
