I'm currently doing a turbo build on a D16Y8, and planning on pushing 9psi with a DSM 14b turbo,and 310cc injectors.

i would go with the built z6 over the b16. if i had to do it over again i would get a z6 and build it up and boost it. for the money i have put in my car i could have a 300 whp car right now and not a 250 maxed out b16 car. b16 stock blocks can hold up to 8-10 psi but dont go much more than that because you will blow it up.
After reading that, I was wondering how much whp I am to expect out of it and if it will be ok for my engine. (I've had a few people tell me it'd be fine, just need someone else to re-assure me before I start to put it all together.)

P.S. I'd build the D for the price.

^^^^ at 9 psi with your turbo, you would probably be close to the 200 whp mark. 200-210 whp is about the highest safe mark for a stock d series engine. (however, remember that almost all reliability is in the tuned!!!)
