ive been thinking. . .
ok, my original boost plans were to run ac and ps. i believe thats going to be way too much work in the long run. plus if something messes up, it will be harder to work on with everything in the way. i already have a peakboost ramhorn ac and ps compatible manifold, downpipe, and dumptube. but, i believe im just gonna go all out and get everything new and build my motor pretty good. so, im either going to run a t3/t67 h.o. or a t4/t67. i dont want to run a BB turbo because i have heard that its a hastle to run oil and water lines to cool it. plus, they are more epensive. and im going with a garrett turbo more than likely. what do you guys think? i want to make atleast 400whp. ill probably buy me a junk car just to drive when i get done with this little project.
I dont know where you live, but I know that in the 3 years ive had my car, I've used the A/C maybe twice, and I live in Pennsylvania. I even ripped out the A/C system and I have a manifold/turbo that is A/C and P/S compatible, but I did leave P/S
I say ditch em' both. I have driven my friend's B20 hatch with no ps and it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. the only time it sucks is when you have to turn the wheel when you are not moving (3 point turns and parallel parking). Your engine bay will look soooooo much cleaner if you remove both.
yea well, unfortunately i really need ac where i live, ALABAMA! the humidity is absolutely horrible here. oh well, ill just buy a hatch or something and it will have ac. so which turbo should i go with though? t3/t67 ho or the t4/t67?
ooooh, yeah if you live in Alabama i think it'd be rough. Me and Trent both just removed our A/C for our turbo projects and i'm with him, it doesn't get THAT hot THAT often, i'm not gonna fret about it, but i think if i was you i'd try and keep it. Especially if you already have the manifold, might as well put it to use. Do the whole project right once and you won't have to get down in there very often hopefully and try and work around the A/C
