It has nothing to do with "pumping air" it has everything to do with the air hitting your throttlebody plate and rushing back into the turbo/SC. You do need a BOV on any SC other than a roots style blower(JRSC)

That does not look like a bad idea though and I would say it works.

i thought it was centrifigul superchargers that needed a BOV, because all a roots style blower does is replace the intake manifold and is behind the throttle body.

EDIT: oh sry i read that wrong...sry ignore this post

Dude go for it! Let us know how it works out! It seems pretty sturdy in concept. Worst that could happen is you may need to spend a few extra bucks making it work.

so u can eather force it to stop and hear that cool noise,

Thats so bad for the turbo. The air actually stopped the turbine from spinning, and tries to spin the turbo the other way. I believe thats called compressor surge. I had my car boosted with no BOV for a day or too.......and ill tell u what. The "PSSSHHHT" sounds better than running no BOV.

if you do that to your turbo it will eat itself alive and you will need to replace the compressor within months

and the PSHHHT sounds sweet anyways

months? i know of a lot of guys without BOVs on their stock turbos that have never had one, and they havnt had a problem. but it is definitely better for the turbo to have one.
